And the snow continues

I've ended up with another day off as the storm of the year continues to dump. Goose headed out the door first thing this morning and had a pretty good run to work. Due mainly to the fact that no one is at work. Nearly all the Front Range schools are closed, as are many businesses. I had a roam around the backyard- shook a few bushes and could not believe that the snow came up to my knees. You can see that a bit more snow ended up on the balcony over night.
I always feel that a snow day would be and will be great- but then you get one and there isn't a real bunch of things that you can do, especially this early in the season when most of the ski resorts aren't even open. Oh well, suppose that it beats work!
We're already looking towards the summer. Goose - having a quiet day at work found a couple of bike races for us when we head to NZ, not that it will be summer when we're there. Might try and get Goose's brother to race too as he's just found the 'delights' of mountain biking.
Anyways, got to look at the snow before it goes

winter rears it's head a month or two early!

Still October and we're already having a snow day! Awesome. Started snowing last night and they are predicting another 24 hours for this one. We have at least 8 inches out there. 200mm for those that don't work inches! The square on the balcony are 4" squares.
We did a quick run to the grocery store this morning and are hunkering down for the rest of the day with a couple of DVD's and a bottle of wine! Just hope that we get another day off tomorrow.
Caught Moby on Sunday evening at the Boulder Theater- he was doing an Etown recording. Nice to see an artist in a small setting after the grandiose Vegas experience.
Hand is getting to be a drag and will be sitting on the stationary bike before too long.
Other than that life is fine and dandy,
cheers, Lynx

U2 in vegas- awesome

Just got back from a weekend in Vegas to find snow falling on the ground. Bit of a shock to the system after sitting by the pool, relaxing for the last two days.
We got tickets to see U2 a while back as a belated wedding anniversary present to ourselves, and what better place to get them for than Vegas. Especially given that the weather in Colorado has started to turn and we haven't quite got our heads around the on coming winter. Could be linked to the fact that we've missed all our fall riding because of my hand- official word is that the hamate hook is fractured. Will be in a splint for another month. Deb did manage to get out at Buff creek last w/e.
So the U2 360 concert- wow.
The stage takes 4 days to erect and 2 to dismantle. There are 3 traveling round so they leapfrog from venue to venue. Have a look here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TDNaEuVgfEo to see how they made the thing. Has a huge TV screens that moves up and down and the likes. Amazing sound system too. Looks something like a space ship, which explains using a Bowie track to start with.
We got tickets in the gods- nobody behind, but had an excellent view because of the screen. The stadium is open air so you have the Vegas skyline in the background.
Black Eyed Pea started the gig- pretty good, although you could tell that most people just wanted U2. They played all the usual stuff and the atmosphere was incredible. The Big screens allowed everyone to see- even Bill Clinton who was there. Strangely not near us!
They must have played for a good few hours and did a couple of encores.
Very good experience and so pleased that we went. If you're interested the LA concert is being streamed on youtube tonight so have a look. Sure it will be there for a while after.
